Peninsula Newcomers Club

Welcoming women to our community since 1987

Welcome to the Saanich Peninsula!

Since 1987 the Peninsula Newcomers Club (PNC) has helped women settle in to their new community on the Saanich Peninsula.  From regular indoor and outdoor social activities to special functions, we offer something for every taste.  So explore these pages and find out how the PNC can help you fall in love with your community and all it has to offer.  The Peninsula Newcomers Club is active from September to June, with many activities continuing through July and August.

Join Us May 15 from 12:30 til 2:30
at Holy Trinity Church Hall, 1319 Mills Road, North Saanich

It’s a first for PNC and we couldn’t be more excited to share all of our favourite lunch treats!

Click here to register from May 1-13, maximum 60 people.

You’ll be able to sign up to bring either a main dish or a dessert, and to be on the set up/clean up team.

This should be a fun event and if you think enjoying food prepared by your friends is great,
let’s top it by letting you know there’s NO CHARGE TO ATTEND! (as long as you bring a dish or sign up for the set-up or clean-up crew)

Our Speaker, Debra Lange will share the history of some of the areas past residents who are buried in the church cemetery.

Mark your calendars...

Our AGM will be held on June 19, at 7pm , followed by a Mix and Mingle. Details to come.

10 Ways to get (and GIVE) more to your PNC!

It is surprising how much time and effort is required to run an organization of 275 members. We need everyone to pitch in and help in some small way. We encourage you to help the PNC by volunteering with us. It is a wonderful way to meet people and become more involved with our organization. Here are 10 possibilities for you to join in and help:

1. lead or co-lead an activity for women to join in

2. help the executive with their administrative duties

3. set up tables and chairs and decorations at monthly meetings

4. host a welcome tea for the brand new members

5. pick up donated baskets at Thrifty’s each month for prize draws

6. compose and send thank you notes to luncheon speakers/ organizations

7. bake your favourite goodies for welcome teas, monthly meetings or other events

9. offer your tech skills to help the executive and/or new members navigate the website

10. greet new members at monthly meetings or events

You may have some other ideas… and we’ll post more ways to volunteer in upcoming newsletters and here on the website.
Thanks in advance  :)
