Who we are
The Saanich Peninsula Newcomers Club (PNC) is a welcoming, social, independent, non-profit organization for women who have chosen the Saanich Peninsula as their new home and who would like to build friendships with other women. Membership is open to any woman who has moved to the Saanich Peninsula within the last three years (if they are a new member). Returning members who stay current with their annual membership fees may continue in newcomers indefinitely.
Established in January 1987, the Peninsula Newcomers Club is situated on South Vancouver Island, British Columbia, in an area known as the Saanich Peninsula. The Saanich Peninsula extends from the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal to the southern boundary of Central Saanich, it includes the District of North Saanich; the District of Central Saanich with its villages of Brentwood Bay and Saanichton; and the municipality of the town of Sidney.
What we offer
Our unofficial motto, "Women helping women”, personifies what we do. We offer opportunities to meet new people and develop friendships in a safe environment, through a variety of social gatherings and activities that are organized by, and for, our members.
Members also have the opportunity to convene their own interest/activity should they wish.
Each month, September to June, we distribute a club newsletter via email that updates members on club events and activities. We also share password protected, online information with our members on amenities, services and facilities.
We don’t share our membership contact information with anyone outside of the club. We ask all of our members to respect the privilege of having our member contact information and not use it for soliciting business or outside organization promotions. We do encourage you to use it to get in touch with other members you have met if you want to organize an ad hoc group to get together. Please, no mass mailings unless it is discussed and approved by the executive.
